According to East Lansing Police spokesperson Lt. Scott Wriggelsworth, an eight-year-old child was approached by an adult male last night at approximately 5:15-5:30 p.m. as she walked on the sidewalk in the 900 block of Audubon Road.

The man is described as white, 5'10” or 5’11” tall, and “skinny, with short black hair, no facial hair or glasses.” At the time he approached the child, the man was wearing a red hoody and jeans.

Wriggelsworth says “the male subject asked the eight year old to ‘come with him’ and she ran to a friend’s.”

ELPD’s Detective Bureau has been assigned the case, and is following up.

We will update you if we learn more.
