The annual Alternative Holiday Sale will take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15 and 16, at the Edgewood United Church, 469 N. Hagadorn Road.

Hosted by the Peace Education Center of Greater Lansing, the sale features creations from a variety of local artisans and craftspeople, as well as practical goods for home and body. The vendors are many and varied, such as Everybody Reads, a Lansing-based eclectic bookstore; Retread Art, a local artist who repurposes nontraditional materials into new and unexpected fabrics and objects of art; Udderly Simple, which offers natural, homemade goat milk products for skin care; and many others.

Sale hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The Friday evening sale will take place during the Ten Pound Fiddle concert, which features the internationally acclaimed folk band Windborne. Specializing in close harmony singing, the group is deeply rooted in American Folk singing traditions and has performed all over the world.

Entry to the sale is free, but tickets are necessary for the concert. Dinner will be available on Friday, as well as lunch on Saturday.

Some profits from the sale will go toward assisting the Peace Education Center.
