On June 10, about 300 high school seniors will march onward to join the ranks of Trojan Alumni who have graduated from East Lansing Public Schools over the last century.
East Lansing Info asked Trojan Alumni who live, work and retain ties in East Lansing to congratulate the Class of 2018. From now through early June, we'll feature their reflections and informal advice to the graduating class.

I grew up here, it’s a great place to raise a family, and my family is here.

Andy 2014, Megan 2018 (current grad!) and Owen 2022

What are some funny or fond memories you have about high school?
I loved helping in Mrs. Tucker’s English class, going to football games and editing Ceniad with Jayne Ward!
What was your favorite place in East Lansing when you attended high school? Why?
I’d say MSU Football games were top of the list for fun. We loved walking to America’s Cup from school to have lunch.
What path did you initially take when you graduated?
I went to Indiana University.
What do you think is different about high school today?
The school is much more diverse, with more opportunities, especially for girls in sports.
What do you think is the same?
I feel the same Trojan pride.
What advice do you have for graduating seniors?
Believe that you can do whatever you set your sights on. Listen to your heart and don’t be afraid to reach for the moon. Even if you miss, you might just hit a star!
