Surveys by ELi after the election in November and a recent poll commissioned by the City of East Lansing suggest a not-insignificant percentage of voters in East Lansing are unhappy with the way the City is being managed, at least in terms of finances. Mayor Mark Meadows has attributed expressions of dissatisfaction in the most recent poll as being about poor communication or general anti-government sentiments, and not really primarily about East Lansing’s management.
ELi is interested in learning more about why people might give the kinds of answers they do on this issue, and how this might impact their decisions about whether to vote yes or no on new tax proposals. We have a new survey that aims to get at these questions.
We ask that you only take the survey if you are an East Lansing resident who can vote here.
