ELPD Asks Community for Tips on Swastika Graffiti at St. Thomas Aquinas School

The East Lansing Police Department (ELPD) just sent a press release asking for help in locating those responsible for swastika graffiti discovered today (September 25) on an exterior wall at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School.

Officers were called to the school at approximately 2 p.m., and believe that the graffiti was painted within the last 24 hours. The school and church have not received any other threatening communications aside from the graffiti.

According to the press release, “[W]hile there have not been any direct threats at this time, ELPD officers will be paying special attention to the school grounds to
ensure the safety of both students and staff.” ELPD Deputy Chief Steve Gonzalez tells ELi that they have no updates yet, but are hping for tips from the public.

ELPD encourages anyone with information related to this incident to contact the ELPD Detective Bureau at (517) 319-6884. This case remains
an open investigation.
