According to an update we just received from the City, "Crews are moving forward with the extension of fall bulk collection on the City's west side (residences west of Abbot Road) this week, Nov. 23-25, as scheduled; however, collection will be limited to large bulk piles of leaves. Fine cleanup (blowing and sweeping) is not possible due to the cold temperatures and snow/ice."
The City adds that "East Lansing Department of Public Works (DPW) crews will make every attempt to go back into individual areas of the City after the published dates to clean up existing piles as time and weather permits. No new piles should be raked to the curb."
Wondering why the west side gets two collections this year, and the east side only one? So did one of our readers. Find out the answer.
