ELi doesn’t normally publish click-bait, but in this case, we are totally doing it in order to fulfill our mission of bringing East Lansing nonpartisan, nonprofit news that matters.

We have previously described the problems we and other news organizations are running into with Facebook’s latest practices. Things have gotten a little better in the last few weeks, following Bloomberg’s reporting that Facebook is willing to “whitelist” local news organizations like ELi that are members of the LION Publishers group.

But we still run into problems with Facebook refusing to let us “boost” reporting on politics. So, we are still producing “trojan horse” articles like this one, which exist purely to get past the bots that stop us from boosting political news reports, to our Facebook readers, so that we can tell you things like this:
