Travis Stoliker has joined East Lansing Info’s (ELi’s) Board of Directors as an at-large member at the invitation of the other three members of the Board. ELi is an IRS-recognized nonprofit corporation dedicated to providing factual, accurate, useful information to the people of East Lansing, Michigan. Board members are unpaid and subscribe to a Conflict of Interest policy.

Stoliker brings to ELi his substantial professional experience in communications, marketing, and information technology. He was a member of the small executive team that grew Lansing-based Liquid Web from a small company to a major player in the web hosting industry.

Today, Stoliker is co-owner of Saddleback BBQ in Lansing, is a limited partner at Huron River Ventures, and is an Angel Investor at Capital Community Angels. He also serves as a volunteer member of the City of East Lansing’s Zoning Board of Appeals, which “interprets and grants variances from provisions of the zoning code.”

ELi’s Board of Directors invited Stoliker to join them in part because of the skills and energy he brings—skills that include promoting sustainable organizational growth and understanding customer needs. In ELi’s case, that includes helping ELi’s managers understand how to reach more readers and how to understand readers’ needs with regard to ELi’s mission of educating and empowering people who live, work, and play in East Lansing by providing nonpartisan, timely news and information.

A donor to ELi since its founding in 2014, Stoliker also brings to the Board professional experience in human resources and in how to develop partnerships between organizations. Board President and Publisher Alice Dreger says, “Having Travis on the Board is a huge win for ELi and its constituents. Travis is a true believer in ELi’s mission, an outstanding member of our community, and a tremendous asset in terms of his skill set. The Board is nothing short of thrilled that he is joining us.”

Stoliker tells ELI, "I've been a long-term supporter of ELi because I believe in its public service to the people living and working in and around East Lansing. A community works best when its people can be informed about and connect with local government, local businesses, and local opportunities to learn, relax, and grow.”
