Council Member Ruth Beier expects to attend both City Council meetings and an MSU class on some Tuesday evenings this fall. The Mayor is absent through October 1. How will all this work? ELi's Chris Root has the details.

“We have a lot of chemistry on defense, we’ve been playing together since seventh grade. And we’re a pretty athletic bunch,” says senior linebacker Justin Brown. ELi's Mark Meyer tells you how that chemistry turned into a "W."

The East Lansing Board of Education approved a one-year contract with FiberLink, Inc. for fiber infrastructure maintenance in an amount not to exceed $45,000, allowing ELPS to receive internet service through an ISD consortium. ELi's James Hosey, a recent graduate of our Summer Youth Journalism Program, reports.

The Mayor Pro Tem questions whether there's really been a downturn in business downtown during construction, while two other members of Council advocate for more free parking downtown to try to rescue struggling shops and restaurants. ELi's Jessy Gregg reports.
