After failing to agree on a replacement for retiring member Yasmina Bourouai, the ELPS School Board met last week to unanimously select candidate Terah Chambers, and to replace Board President Nell Kuhnmuench with Kate Powers.

Sell the Hannah Community Center, parking system, and soccer fields? De-fund social services for seniors and persons with disabilities? Ask the voters for a property tax increase? Council has started talking about what to do, now that the income tax proposal has failed.

The proposed ten-story-tall, student-focused “The Hub” formally failed to get a positive recommendation from East Lansing’s Planning Commission Wednesday night. ELi's Jessy Gregg reports.

"It's amazing we were thinking along the same lines at the same time," says Flores. "I'm so happy these boxes exist and hoping they will be at other places, too. On the other hand, I'm sad that the need is even there. But it's good that so many people are saying it's not OK and are addressing the issue."
