A reader asked why the Georgio’s Pizza at 1010 East Grand River Avenue (just east of Bogue Street) is closed up with a fence around it. The 7-11 store next door is also closed up and fenced in.
That site is the future location of The Hub, set to be a ten-story project with retail space on the first floor and apartments for up to 585 residents, expected to be chiefly MSU students. East Lansing’s City Council approved the project in a 5-0 vote in mid-December.
ELi provided comprehensive coverage of this project as it moved through the various stages of review:
Georgio's and 7-11 are both expected to occupy new retail space in the first floor of this project. The project is expected to open in time for the Fall semester of 2019.
Georgio's Pizza at 120 Charles Street is open as usual.
