The Big Green Gig is the name of East Lansing’s 2017 celebration of all things peace, love and earth related.
Michigan State University’s Community Relations Council, together with a dozen student environmental organizations, are hosting an Earth Day celebration at Valley Court Park from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
Activities include painting flowerpots and tie-dying. There will be a drum circle, a model biodome and a plant giveaway, along with live music.
“We are excited to bring together a number of organizations and community members to celebrate our planet in a beautiful, open-air park atmosphere,” wrote CRC intern Payden Myers.
Groups participating include MSU Greenpeace, Spartan Sierra Club, Greener Together, Sustainable Spartans, MSU Bailey Bee Team, MSU Counter Cuisine Club, MSU Climate Reality Project Campus Corps, MSU LEAF Club, Student Greenhouse Project, MSU Fisheries and Lettuce Live Well
