Congregation Shaarey Zedek in East Lansing will offer an eight week Introduction to Judaism course on Wednesday evenings October 19 – December 14. Class will meet from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. except for Wednesday, November 23 when there will be no class because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The class will cover topics including Jewish holidays, life cycle events, philosophy, prayer, theology, and more, and it’s designed to benefit students from inside and outside the Jewish faith. If you have no experience with Judaism and you’re curious, or want to learn more because you’re in an interfaith partnership, the class provides a starting point.
The class can also serve as refresher course if you were raised Jewish but missed out on religious school, or have forgotten some of what was learned years ago.
The class is free for Shaarey Zedek members and costs $36 for non-members, and will be taught by Rabbi Amy Bigman.
Registration is due by Friday, October 7. To register, or for further information, please contact Rabbi Amy Bigman at (517) 351-3570 or rabbibigman@shaareyzedek.com.
Shaarey Zedek is located at 1924 Coolidge Road.
