The deadline for applications for ELi’s first Summer Youth Journalism Program is fast approaching. Accepted applicants aged 14-22 will participate in a two-week program in August run by journalism educator Cody Harrell. Participants will be given a $250 stipend for participation and will also be paid in addition for published reporting.

Applicants do not need to live in East Lansing, and in fact several of our participants are from neighboring cities, including Grand Ledge and Okemos. Click here to learn more about the program and application process.

We’ve heard from many people older than 22 who would love to do a program like this, so we’ll be considering that possibility!

As a reminder, ELi is now accepting tax-deductible donations for the Summer Youth Journalism Program to match the generous grant we have received from the Lansing Area Community Trust (LACT) for the program. Donations by check can be sent to East Lansing Info at PO Box 115, East Lansing, MI 48826. Donations by credit card can be made through this link. Please consider giving today!
