In response to shootings by police officers in Louisiana and Minneapolis this week, a Community Rally will take place this evening at Union Missionary Baptist Church. Melvin Jones, the Church’s Pastor, posted yesterday on Facebook “Our community cannot stand idly by and not give voice to police violence on black men. You are invited to come to a community rally at Union Missionary Baptist Church tomorrow night at 6 p.m.”

Pagan Food Pantry Joins Fight Against Hunger

“May You Never Hunger, May You Never Thirst” is the motto of Pagans In Need, an organization located in the Metro Detroit area, dedicated to serving the many diverse needs of its’ clientele. PIN recently opened a food bank in Lansing, which is filled and maintained by supporters of the organization, and is stocked with food and clothing for those who might need a little extra help.

Members of The Peoples Church Choir

This Sunday, April 24th, The Peoples Church Sanctuary Choir will perform Joseph Haydn's “Mass in a Time of War” during the Church’s 10:30 a.m. worship service. 

For decades, the Choir has attracted high-caliber vocal and conducting talent from both sides of Grand River Avenue. Under the leadership of Music Director Jonathan Reed, the group takes part in worship services from September through May, and presents two "Music Sunday” worship services each year, featuring full-length choral works.
